american idol gossipAmerican Idol song list for Wednesday March 9, 2011.

It’s been revealed.  The set list for tonight’s American Idol 2011 performances.   The Top 13 contestants will be performing songs from their favorite artists.  Will this hurt them or help them performance wise?  The judges remarks and criticisms play a lot into how the audience votes.  Think about it. You could be on the fence about a performance, and the judges either really like it, or really hate it.  Doesn’t that swing your opinion at all?  We can already guess at what some of the contestants will be picking.  Casey Abrams will be picking something blue-sy, and Scotty McCreery will be going country – no surprise there.  I’m a little worried about his stamina in this competition.  I would be shocked to see him have talent signing another song other than a country one.  Don’t get me wrong.  I think the guy has talent, and I think he will be a country star no matter what happens on Idol.  The longer he is able to stay on Idol, the more fans he will accumulate.  Well, enough chat, here’s the list of songs and performers:

Lauren Alaina: “Any Man of Mine” by Shania Twain
Casey Abrams: “With a Little Help From My Friends” by Joe Cocker
Ashton Jones: “When You Tell Me That You Love Me” by Diana Ross
Paul McDonald: “Come Pick Me Up” by Ryan Adams
Pia Toscano: “All By Myself” by Celine Dion
James Durbin: “Maybe I’m Amazed” by Paul McCartney
Haley Reinhart: “Blue” by LeAnn Rimes
Jacob Lusk: “I Believe I Can Fly” by R. Kelly
Thia Megia: “Smile” by Michael Jackson
Stefano Langone: “Lately” by Stevie Wonder
Karen Rodriguez: “I Could Fall in Love” by Selena
Scotty McCreery: “The River” by Garth Brooks
Naima Adedapo: “Umbrella” by Rihanna

Looks like Karen Rodriguez is really trying to kiss some J. Lo butt on American Idol 2011, wouldn’t you say?
