Bakersfield Condors “Charlie Sheen Night”
The Bakersfield Condors are planning to have a Charlie Sheen Night.
Haven’t heard the name Charlie Sheen enough this week? Well, he is all over the news. In another effort to keep his huge ego floating, a minor league hockey team out of Bakersfield has marketed a way to promote their game via Charlie Sheen. The Bakersfield Condors are having “Charlie Sheen Night” (March 12, 2011) in conjunction with “St. Patrick’s Jersey Off Our Backs Night.” Here’s what is involved:
– Bring a clean drug test to the game and get free admission for one per drug test (that should prove interesting).
– Wear a fedora instead of a Condors hat, and dress like Charlie Sheen from any of his movie roles and you can pay a reduced admission of just $2.50. (I think most will opt for this option over the drug test admission reduction)
– The first 1,000 males to enter the game will get a Sheen face mask on a stick.
The Bakersfield Condors are also trying to break a Guinness World Record. They are attempting to reach one million Twitter followers in less than 25 hours and 17 minutes. This is the time it took Sheen to reach one million followers after joining the social media site earlier this week. If they should break this record, they are going to allow Charlie Sheen himself to rename the team! They have also said that if anyone can bring $2 million dollars to the game, they can own the team. This was the amount Sheen was making per episode on “Two and a Half Men.”
Team President, Matthew Riley, stated this date was picked because they were celebrating the St. Patrick’s holiday on this date as well and figured this would be a holiday that Sheen would enjoy celebrating. Riley also added the Bakersfield Condors plan on “winning” the game. The newest catchphrase that Charlie has used in so many of his eccentric interviews time and time again.
