Taylor Swift kicked off her week with a late-night appearance on the Tonight show with Jay Leno. The Mean singer was at the NBC Studios in Burbank to plug her new film The Lorax,  in theaters from March 2nd.

The 22-year-old also chatted about about topics ranging from what ‘mean’ really means to being stupid in love. She said: ” When I’m in love I’m just stupid about it. I’m a Sagittarius and it says one of our major qualities is that we’re blindly optimistic. I trust people constantly.”

Barbadian born Russian Roulette singer Rihanna was late rehearsing for the BRIT awards in London after birthday celebrations began early for the star, who turned 24 this week.

The peroxide blonde was spotted leaving her hotel sporting red suspenders, with shades to hide the circles under her eyes, after reportedly partying all night.

With a pair of denim shorts, she wore a printed T-shirt, a baseball jacket and a checkered shirt tied around her waist.

On her feet were a pair of black patent chunky brogues,with a dark headband to finish the look.

He’s up for two Oscars this year alone, has the gorgeous Stacy Keibler on his arm (seen here lookinng lovely in red) and would seem to have the world at his feet. But now, in an unusually frank interview with industry “Bible” The Hollywood Reporter, George Clooney has revealed a string of inimate details about himself.

Far from his jet-setting image, he says he is in bed by 10pm most nights. And he’s a terrible insomniac who has also suffered fron devastating chronic back pain.

And, like most of us, he reveals, he sometimes gets lonely, has on occasion had too much to drink, and has in the past been jilted and cheated on. Good to know that “Gorgeous George” is only human after all …

Blake Lively enjoyed a heady taste of New York City’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Fall 2012 this week at the Noon by Noor presentation at Provocateur.  The Gossip Girl star, who turns 25 this year,  looked gorgeous in a white and black piece for the star-studded event. She teamed the ensemble with black tights and heels. Her throat was bare and her blond hair swept over one shoulder.

In terms of the actress and model’s career, a new episiode of Gossip Girl is due to be aired next week.

Former Friends star Jennifer Aniston has told the US version of GQ magazine that the confidence she has these days comes from being in her forties. The 43-year-old Along Came Polly actress posed for the magazine clad in little more than a black bra and mini skirt, saying “My forties are great!”

She was joined at the shoot by Paul Rudd, who stars with Aniston in their new movie, the comedy drama Wanderlust. Also in the film is Jen’s real-life boyf, actor Justin Theroux – and surely that relationship must also have helped boost her confidence?

In the inteview, Aniston also reveals she recently quit smoking. She claims that that has made her put on a few pounds, but, judging by the photos, we find that kind of hard to believe …

Cheaper by the Dozen star Hilary Duff, who’s heavily pregnant, was spotted out and about in Beverly Hills this week on the afternoon of Valentine’s Day. Sporting a bump hugging jumper, denim skirt and fringed boots, the actor, who’s just a few weeks away from giving birth to her first child, was seen at the Cabbage Patch restaurant, where the 24-year-old, who’s also a singer-songwriter, author and entrepreneur, was no doubt satisfying some food cravings!

And it looks as though her husband, Mike Comrie, is to have a lot more daddy time than he may once have done. The hockey star has just announced his retirement from the professional game.

Early indications are that Whitney Houston did not die from drowning, but from what seems to be a mix of  other prescription drugs  and alcohol, say family sources.

The family has apparently been told there was not enough water in the singer’s lungs to have drowned her in the bath.

It’s emerged that Whitney’s aunt Mary Jones discovered Whitney’s body. She pulled her out of the tub and began gjving CPR.

Whitney’s mom has also reportedly arranged to have the singer’s body flown back to Atlanta soon. Given the lack of evidence of foul play, this should not be problematic.

Houston, who herself won six Grammys, was remembered during special tributes at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, and accolades have been pouring in from across the world.

Houston’s daughter Bobbi-Kristina has been rushed to hospital twice in the wake of her mother’s death, as father Bobby Brown leaves his tour to be at her side in LA.

Titanic, The Reader and Carnage star Kate Winslet showed up at a New York party this week looking as though she had been caught out in a gale – more Windswept than Winslet!

However, the blown-away hairstyle was more than made up for by this simple yet stylish outfit, a figure-hugging knee length black dress.

The 36-year-old mother-of-two was at an event marking 50 Years of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Coming during New York Fashion Week, it marked the start of an exhibition that looks back at the American fashion industry over the past half century.

Actress Lindsay rocked up at the amfAR New York Gala this week, and surprised everyone – and not in a good way.

The troubled young starlet looked rather older than her 25 years, as she pitched up on the red carpet with quite a matronly look, and heavy make-up for the red-carpet affair last night.

Her white dress was by Tom Ford, teamed with Prada heels, while the coat cuffs, said one commentator, “made it look like Lindsay has werewolf hands.” The same fashionista dismissed Lindsay’s look as too dental nurse-like, and said she is looking increasingly like her mother, Dina.

Kate Middleton was stepping out on her own in London this week after her husband Prince William set off on a six-week tour with the RAF as a search and resuce pilot in the Falklands.

The Duchess of Cambridge turned up at the British capital’s famous National Gallery in a chic grey belted dress with an A-line skirt which fell just above her knees.

Next week, she will have to spend her first Valentine’s Day as William’s wife without him by her side.

Kate, who recently turned 30, once reportedly told a marine pilot’s wife: “I don’t know how you manage. I miss William so much when he is away.”

But for her first post-baby official public appearance, a month after the birth of Blue Ivy Carter, singer Beyonce Knowles dazzled in a salmon-colored Alice Temperley cocktail dress, along with Ofira & Lorraine Schwartz jewels, an Alexander McQueen clutch bag and a pair of sparkly Christian Louboutin shoes. With straightened but not over styled hair, the singer looked every inch gorgeous and was celebrating rather than hiding her voluptuous curves. 

She was in New York celebrating Jay-Z’s two forthcoming shows at Carnegie Hall to benefit United Way of New York City and The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. Her rap mogul husband was on stage at the hall in a bow tie and tux, flanked by a 36-piece orchestra.

Having received a mixed reaction to her directorial debut W.E., Madonna has  been busily preparing for her musical comeback. starting with her half-time Super Bowl performance this weekend. And her new single, Give Me All Your Luvin, has already been launched during American Idol.
