From the internationally renowned Italian design house of MISSONI comes this stunning coat in a fabulous floral design composed of a striking combination of browns, tan, copper, beige, purple and lavender. In keeping with MISSONI’s impeccable quality and unmatched designs, thiscoat is absolutely stunning, and guaranteed, to be a favorite for years to come. From their runway collection, the greatest thing about a MISSONI design, is that it will NEVER go out of style and is instantly recognizable by their bright and bold designs.
Made of a soft wool blend, the design is so very MISSONI; a mixture of browns, tan, copper, light and dark purples, in a large floral print. The flowers are scattered throughout, with more on the sleeves, collar and around the bottom. (Please see pictures). One of the more beautiful, (in my humble opinion), prints MISSONI has created, this coat is instantly recognizable as a MISSONI, and will result in compliments for life!
A double breasted design, it has 6 brown wooden buttons on the front, with one hidden inner button to use when the coat is buttoned close. The buttons are 1” across, with the face made of a polished, natural wood, with a natural, unfinished wood bezel around each. The collar is a double “V”, with the bottom half revealing a shiny, solid copper color silk, a striking yet subtle contrast to the beautiful floral print. The top “V” of the collar is 4.5” at its’ widest, and the bottom silk “V” is 6”.
The front has two, angled slit pockets, with a flap that is topstitched in mocha. The entire coat is topstitched in a mocha color, thicker thread, adding another touch of class to this beautiful coat. The coat has a 42” belt, with the wool fabric on one side and the copper silk on the other. Again, topstitched in mocha, it has a vertical, rectangular slide buckle made of a polished dark brown wood. (The buckle measures 2.75” x 1.75”).
The coat is partially lined inside with the copper colored silk, around the shoulder area, the complete sleeve, a 6” panel around the front sides, and the inner kick-pleat on the back. The difference in the color of the lining from the outer design, creates an eye-catching display when the lining is exposed. A MISSONI label is sewn along the inner collar.
The coat measures 41” long (measured from the top of the collar to the bottom hemline), 15.5” shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the top, 20” under arm to under arm, the sleeves are approximately 19” long and the belt is 42.5” long including the buckle. The coat has a bit of flair to it, but not enough to be defined as a swing coat design. The bust line is 19.5” across, the waistline is 20” across, and its 29” wide at the bottom hemline. (Due to the nature of the fabric, there is some stretch to it and all measurements are approximate because of this. The coat was not stretched to take the measurements, so there will be some give to the measurements noted).
The back of the coat has a 15” kick pleat, (topstitched in mocha), exposing the copper lining with movement … very pretty. There is a wide stitch, single row topstitch running around the hemline and sleeves, 6” up from the bottom of each, another simple, yet striking styling touch.
From the MISSONI runway collection, it sold out quickly, and is no longer available. In a class all its’ own, this trench coat will always be in style and will most definitely be one of your favorites for years to come!
