Gary Coleman on Life Support
Gary Coleman was hospitalized earlier this week for a brain hemorrhage from a fall. He remains on life support and is was slipping in and out of unconsciousness until he took a turn for the worse yesterday afternoon.
The ‘Different Strokes’ star suffered an injury in his Utah home on Wednesday. His manager John Alcantar said Gary Coleman was taken to a local hospital for treatment then immediately transferred to the ICU at Utah Regional Medical Center for further testing.
Manager John Alcantar released a statement saying, “As of mid-morning on May 27, Mr. Coleman was conscious and lucid. By early afternoon, Mr. Coleman was slipping in and out of consciousness and his condition worsened. We are saddened to announce that since mid-afternoon, Mountain Time, on May 27, 2010, Mr. Coleman has been unconscious and on life support. At this critical moment, we can only ask for your thoughts and prayers for Gary to make a speedy and full recovery.”
Gary Coleman had a history of serious health problems throughout the years. He began to suffer seizures this year. The child star was said to always put his audience and fans first despite his health conditions. In addition to ‘Different Strokes, Gary Coleman appeared on ‘The Jeffersons’, ‘Good Times’, and ‘The Little Rascals’.
